Solar Eclipse. Today I was lucky with the weather, and had clear sky to be able to watch this solar eclipse. This image was captured using a cropped sensor Nikon D200 with Nikon 300 f4 lens with a B+W 10 stop filter fitted.
Popped over to the Big Pit mining museum today with my little LX100, and managed to capture this shot. I have tried before to get this viewpoint, but as this whole area is fenced off, I have never been able to get it. But with the LX100 having a much smaller lens, it will fit through the chain link fencing. Cloud level was very low this morning, but with some levels adjustment, I have managed to get some detail in it.
As the weather was forecasted as a nice day, I thought that I had better get out for a walk up high in the Beacons. So parking at Blaen y Glyn, I ascended up onto Craig y Fan Ddu and walked around to Fan Big, this shot was taken on route.
Today I lead a walk in the Brecon Beacons for one of our local walking festivals. At the start of the walk the weather was rather overcast, but improved as the day progressed, finishing with full on sun and clear blue sky's. A big thank you to my group of walkers, who made it a great day out.
