Another cold night, but this made way for a lovely sunny day, so we decided to ascend to the top of Snowdon today following the Ranger Track. With more fresh snow on the ground, there was only one set of footprints in front of us, and as we could see quite a way up the track, this person must had left quite early. This climb is quite steady all the way up to the summit and we were protected from the cold wind until we got past one of the saddles on the final exposed ascent towards the railway. Once we got as far as the Pyg track, we were again protected from the wind. Lunch was very pleasant sitting on the south side of the cafe, soaking up the sun. |
